Safedem was appointed as Specialist Explosives Engineering Contractor by Modon on behalf of DMT (Department of Municipalities and Transport) to demolish the Mina Plaza Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE

The demolition was incredibly complex. Dealing with one tower block is a challenge in itself. Dealing with four towers that are built on top of a massive podium block, in the midst of a global pandemic, has required all of Safedem’s skills and expertise.

Comprising 144 storeys across four towers, the complex stood at 165.032 metres making this a Guinness World Record for the tallest building demolished by the controlled use of explosives.
